Welcome to the brand new Grovehurst Pet Shop website and blog. Whether you’ve been shopping with us for years or you’ve only just discovered us, thank you for stopping by.

If you’ve noticed things looking a little different around here, that’s because we’ve been busy behind the scenes working on a fresh new look for 2026 with The Design Witch!

Grovehurst Pet Shop has been serving local pet owners since 2003, and after more than two decades of helping customers and their beloved pets, we felt it was time for a refresh that truly reflects who we are today.

Our new branding and website have been designed to showcase everything we love about being an independent, family-run pet shop – friendly service, expert advice, quality products, and a genuine passion for animals.

But we’re not stopping there…

A Fresh New Look Is Coming To The Shop Too!

The website may be finished, but Vicky is currently busy giving the shop itself a makeover too!

Over the coming months you’ll start to see exciting changes in store as we redecorate and create a space that ties in beautifully with our new branding. We can’t wait to share the transformation with you and we’d love to hear what you think along the way.

A Little Bit About Us

For those who don’t know our story, Grovehurst Pet Shop has been a family-run business for over 23 years.

Sue originally started the business in 2003 after working in the pet industry since 1997. Her goal was simple: provide pet owners with quality food, treats, toys and accessories at fair prices, backed by genuine customer service and honest advice.

Over the years we’ve always tried to support British businesses where possible, working with many fantastic family-run suppliers across the UK.

The business originally started in Grovehurst (which explains the name!) before relocating to our current home in Grovepark.

In 2015, Vicky joined the business as Sue’s partner, bringing with her years of experience from working throughout the pet industry. Together they created the store many of you know and love today, including one of our most popular features – the natural treat Pick ‘n’ Mix tables that dogs seem to drag their owners towards every single day!

Then came Covid-19.

Like many small businesses, we had to adapt quickly, finding new ways to support our customers and keep pets supplied with everything they needed. The support we received from our local community during that time was incredible and something we’ll never forget.

Along the way, we even launched our own dog food brand, Poppy’s Pantry – a healthy, balanced and natural dog food range designed to offer excellent nutrition without the premium price tag.

Today, we’re continuing to grow and evolve while staying true to the values that got us here in the first place.

Meet The Team

Many of you will already know Simon, who has been part of the Grovehurst family for almost 15 years.

If you’ve ever needed a special order, nutritional advice or help finding the right product, there’s a good chance Simon has helped you out. He knows the shop inside and out and is always happy to share his knowledge.

Outside of work, Simon is a big fan of good coffee and even bigger fan of trainers. In fact, he has an Instagram account dedicated to his impressive trainer collection!

Introducing Dog of the Month!

One of our favourite new features on the website is our brand new Dog of the Month section.

Why not bring your furry friend into the shop for a free little treat and a quick photo? We’ll do our best to capture their good side (although some dogs make us work harder than others!).

Each month one lucky pooch will be featured on our website and social media pages.

It’s completely free to enter and we’d love to meet some new furry faces.

More Than Just A Pet Shop

While we absolutely love natural products and healthy pet nutrition, we know that every pet and owner is different.

That’s why we stock a huge range of products to suit all budgets, lifestyles and pet preferences. From food, treats and toys to beds, collars, accessories and much more, we work hard to bring you products we genuinely believe in.

And if you’re unable to visit us in person, our new online store is now live too!

We’ll be adding more products regularly and expanding our delivery options, making it easier than ever to shop with us wherever you are.

Of course, nothing beats a visit to our Sittingbourne store where you’ll always find a warm welcome, friendly faces and advice tailored to your pet’s individual needs.
